Leading up to the 10th annual Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo this August 30 to September 2 in Southern California, ACT Expo and ACT News will be co-hosting a series of webinars to whet your appetite for some of the topics that will be covered at this year’s return to live events.

Starting June 22 at 10am PT, the preconference webinars will allow attendees to jumpstart their clean tech education before attending the 2021 ACT Expo. Participants will gain deeper understanding on some of the hottest topics facing fleets today, as well as access to industry experts throughout the series. The sessions will include topics ranging from electric vehicles to connected technologies, to how special purpose acquisition companies, or SPACs, have affected the clean transportation industry. Attendees will get insight that will pave the way to a better understanding of the clean tech industry and help them get the most from their ACT Expo experience. Each webinar will include a 15-minute live Q&A.

The five webinars include:

Realizing Revenue from Vehicle to Grid | June 22, 2021 | Watch Recording »
Vehicle to grid (or V2G) presents a unique opportunity for fleets to transform their demand generating EVs into grid assets. Whether used for resiliency, grid stabilization, or a way to earn extra revenue, V2G introduces new ways for fleets and grid operators to manage new load requirements through renewable and reliable services. The webinar will discuss successful V2G demonstrations and fleet case studies, roadmaps for enabling V2G for your fleet electrification, and technologies that are pioneering V2G across industry sectors.

The Commercial Pathway for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles | June 30, 2021 | Watch Recording »
This past year saw unprecedented investment, fleet interest, and vehicle announcements for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. These vehicles present tremendous opportunity to achieve zero emission without sacrificing range and fuel time—attractive components for demanding over-the-road fleets. With early demonstration projects underway and billions of dollars in planned investment now beginning to take place, commercial applications for fuel cell electric vehicles are now closer than ever. The webinar will discuss the latest innovations moving fuel cell EVs into widespread adoption, early fleet case studies from demonstrations, and hydrogen infrastructure plans to support fleets throughout North America.

Effectively Combining Smart, Connected, and Electric Technologies | July 6, 2021 | Watch Recording »
The “triple threat” from combining connected, smart, and electric technologies provides a unique opportunity to optimize EV operations and enable more effective fleet management. Areas of opportunity such as integrating telematics into EVs and connecting to charging management can help fleets achieve more cost-savings, improve time management, and more effectively manage assets. When successfully integrated, these solutions can be a gamechanger for the industry and for sustainability—poising electrification for more widespread fleet adoption. The webinar will discuss early fleet successes from effectively combining connected, smart and electric technologies for EVs, as well as the latest service offerings and opportunities from leading charging, microgrid, and electric vehicle technology firms.

SPAC Attack! | July 20, 2021 | Watch Recording »
It felt as though each day in 2020 led to a new announcement of a clean transportation company going public through a Special Purpose Acquisition Company, aka “SPAC”. This relatively new investment vehicle took the investment and clean transportation industry by storm, and many of us are still trying to understand what transpired and what will be its lasting impact. The webinar will discuss the considerations that led to choosing SPAC as a public offering, what life looks like after SPACs and how the investment vehicle enabled company transformation, and thoughts on future investment vehicles and trends to watch out for that will impact clean transportation.

Realizing Greater Efficiency and Emissions Reductions in Commercial Applications | August 3, 2021 | Watch Recording »
Leading efficiency and traditional alt fuel innovations have enabled fleets to reach significant economic and environmental sustainability with their non-electric fleet assets. While so much attention has been paid to new electric products, most fleets in North America are not ready nor able to fully replace their fleet with EV. Biofuels, natural gas, propane, and efficiency technologies are proven technologies that are currently helping fleets achieve sustainability goals while also meeting economic needs. The webinar will discuss fleet case studies on environmental and economic gains from efficiency and alternative low carbon fuels, the latest innovations from technology manufacturers and fuel providers that are delivering increased sustainability and economic benefits.

Next, take your clean tech education one step further and register to attend the upcoming 2021 ACT Expo, taking place August 30-September 2 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California.
