Southern California fleets have access to more than $500 million in clean heavy-duty truck funding through programs offered by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD), the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and others. The biggest opportunity will come from knowing which programs can be stacked, and how to plan for them together.
Between now and early 2027, these agencies are running or preparing incentive programs with per-vehicle awards ranging from $100,000 – $400,000 depending on the fleet type and vehicle class. Each program has its own eligibility rules, scrappage requirements, application timelines, and restrictions, making it critical for fleets to understand how the programs fit together before committing to a funding strategy.
