Optimus Technologies announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., granting Mitsui exclusive distribution rights for the Optimus Vector System and related products in Japan, India, and ASEAN countries.

The agreement builds on the existing collaboration between the companies and reflects a shared commitment to scalable decarbonization solutions during a pivotal period in the global energy transition. As industries reassess electrification and hydrogen adoption timelines, fleets are seeking commercially viable and sustainable options. Through the expanded partnership, Optimus and Mitsui aim to provide immediate impact and support organizations across Asia in progressing toward carbon reduction goals.

“This MOU represents more than just regional expansion — it’s a strategic alignment,” said Colin Huwyler, CEO of Optimus Technologies. “Mitsui’s global reach, deep market expertise, and longstanding commitment to sustainability create an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate deployment of our technology in some of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing economies.”

The Optimus Vector System is a bolt-on upgrade that enables diesel engines to operate on B100, achieving near-zero carbon emissions without performance or reliability impacts. The system manages and conditions biodiesel for optimal combustion and can be used as a retrofit or integrated into new-build applications.

Optimus reports that more than 150 million real-world miles have been logged by heavy-duty trucks equipped with the Vector System, demonstrating its emissions-reduction capability while maintaining high performance.

With the signing of the MOU, Optimus and Mitsui intend to leverage their combined momentum to deliver decarbonization solutions on a global scale and open new opportunities for fleets and shippers seeking to reduce emissions while meeting the operational demands of heavy-duty transportation.
