Uber Freight has introduced its Dedicated EV Fleet Accelerator Program, a partnership with Tesla designed to make heavy-duty electric trucks more affordable and accessible for carriers.
The initiative provides fleets with subsidies on Tesla Semi purchases while securing multi-year dedicated contracts through Uber Freight’s network, addressing top adoption hurdles: high upfront costs, utilization risk, and return on investment. Fleets also gain access to Tesla’s technical expertise on vehicle performance and total cost of ownership.
By integrating the Tesla Semi’s 500-mile range, rapid megawatt-class charging, and strong payload capacity into Uber Freight’s dedicated solutions, the program offers both cost savings and emissions reductions. Carriers benefit from fuel and maintenance savings starting on day one, while shippers gain reliable access to zero-emission freight options.
“Carriers want a path to electrification that supports their bottom line and positions their businesses for growth,” Uber Freight stated in its announcement. The company emphasized that aligning freight opportunities with Tesla’s growing Semi charging infrastructure makes route planning more practical for fleets exploring electrification.
The program is designed to operate as a first-of-its-kind buyer’s initiative, pairing guaranteed freight demand with discounted equipment.
