Horizon Motor’s full lineup of battery electric commercial vehicles has been approved by the California Air Resources Board for the Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project.
The approval covers Horizon Motor’s 2026 model year vehicles from Class 3 through Class 8. The company said it is one of the broadest approvals in the program’s history for a single manufacturer.
HVIP provides point-of-sale vouchers that reduce the upfront cost of qualifying zero-emission vehicles for fleet operators and businesses. Horizon Motor said California customers can access vouchers at the time of purchase, with no waiting period.
California customers can now access up to $120,000 in state vouchers toward the purchase of a Horizon Motor electric commercial truck. Qualifying small businesses may be eligible for up to $330,000 in combined CARB incentives on a Class 8 vehicle, including the base HVIP voucher and supplemental small business funding.
The company said available federal tax credits can bring total incentives on a single Class 8 purchase above $200,000 for standard purchasers.
Horizon Motor said its vehicles already deliver up to 60% lower fuel costs and 30% to 50% lower maintenance costs compared with diesel equivalents.
Sean Jones, CEO of Horizon Motor, said the company’s full Class 3 through Class 8 lineup is now HVIP approved and assembled in Ohio.
“We went from zero to a complete, approved electric truck line in two years,” said Jones.
