Key Takeaways

  • ACT Expo and NAFA are expanding their 2026 partnership to deliver practical, credit-eligible education that helps fleet leaders navigate regulatory change, technology adoption, and operational modernization.
  • The collaboration begins with an ACT-led pre-conference workshop at NAFA I&E on April 12, focused on helping fleets manage the regulatory and financial complexities of decarbonization.
  • The session will provide a practical roadmap for fleet transformation, covering regulatory planning, incentive stacking strategies, and the emerging role of carbon credits in improving project economics.
  • ACT Expo 2026 will build on the partnership with additional certification workshops and CAFM® recertification opportunities, giving fleet professionals access to both strategic insights and career-advancing credentials.

As fleet professionals navigate accelerating regulatory change, rapid technology advancement, and increasing pressure to modernize operations, education and collaboration have never been more critical. ACT Expo is expanding its partnership with NAFA Fleet Management Association in 2026 to bring practical, credit-eligible training to NAFA’s April event while deepening the value NAFA members will experience at ACT Expo in May.

This year’s collaboration reflects a shared commitment to equipping fleet leaders with the knowledge, tools, and professional credentials needed to manage complexity, evaluate emerging technologies, and make confident operational and capital decisions.

It begins on Sunday, April 12, at NAFA I&E 2026, where Rebecca Schenker, Cary Welsh, and Patrick Couch of TRC’s Clean Transportation Solutions team will give fleet leaders a strategic head start before the show officially begins. They will deliver a comprehensive pre-conference workshop focused on one of the most pressing challenges facing fleets today: how to successfully navigate the regulatory and financial complexities of decarbonization.

The session, Navigating Regulatory and Financial Pathways for Fleet Decarbonization, is designed to provide a practical, real-world roadmap for public-sector fleet professionals operating in an environment defined by accelerating mandates, evolving incentive programs, and rapid technology change. As compliance requirements intensify and funding mechanisms continue to shift, fleet transformation has become both more urgent and more complex.

The workshop will walk attendees through today’s regulatory landscape while outlining how to build transition plans that anticipate future requirements rather than react to them. It will also explore the growing role of carbon credits and outline strategies to secure and stack incentives in ways that improve project economics and strengthen return on investment. The goal is to help fleet leaders align compliance, funding, and operational priorities into a cohesive strategy that minimizes risk while positioning their organizations for long-term success.

Designed for practical application, the session equips participants with tools they can immediately apply within their own operations, while allowing attendees to earn three CAFM® Recertification Points.

A Stronger ACT–NAFA Collaboration for 2026

The April workshop is just the beginning. ACT Expo 2026 will further expand professional development opportunities through a robust collaboration with NAFA, including two certification workshops designed to deliver practical training for fleet professionals, CAFM®-eligible education across ACT Expo sessions so attendees can earn recertification credits while engaging with cutting-edge content, and a joint NAFA/MEMA workshop that brings fleet operators and suppliers together to address shared challenges and accelerate deployment of advanced transportation solutions.

Together, these offerings ensure fleet managers can pair strategic insight with professional credentialing, strengthening both organizational outcomes and individual career growth.

Education That Meets the Moment

Today’s fleet leaders are expected to do more than maintain vehicles. They must evaluate technologies, manage risk, optimize total cost of ownership, and prepare their organizations for rapid industry change. Through this expanded partnership, ACT Expo and NAFA are delivering trusted, real-world education that helps professionals lead with confidence in a dynamic transportation landscape.

Join us at NAFA’s I&E in April to build practical skills and earn credits, and continue the conversation at ACT Expo 2026 in May, where fleet, technology, and infrastructure leaders come together to shape the future of transportation.
