DHL Supply Chain has taken delivery of its first Tesla Semi, marking a significant step forward in the company’s efforts to accelerate sustainable transportation within its operations. According to DHL, the new battery-electric Class 8 truck will support its strategy to reduce carbon emissions and integrate innovative technologies across its network.
The delivery follows a pilot test in which DHL Supply Chain evaluated the Tesla Semi in real-world operations. The company stated that the new truck will now be deployed into its fleet as part of its broader sustainability roadmap.
“We’re thrilled to add our first Tesla Semi to our operations,” said Jim Monkmeyer, president of Transportation at DHL Supply Chain North America. “This truck represents another step in our efforts to meet our sustainability goals and reduce our carbon footprint.”
DHL Supply Chain emphasized that the deployment of the Tesla Semi aligns with Deutsche Post DHL Group’s sustainability commitments, which include the adoption of cleaner energy solutions and continued investment in technologies that support long-term environmental goals.
Monkmeyer added, “As we continue to integrate sustainable transportation solutions across our network, the Tesla Semi will play an important role in helping us deliver efficient and environmentally friendly service for our customers.”
The company noted that additional Tesla Semis are expected to be delivered, expanding its use of zero-emission transportation solutions across its operations.
