Hosted in tandem with ACT Expo 2025, the TTP Summit, presented by The Transport Project (TTP) at the Anaheim Marriott on Sunday, April 27, 2025, will include a packed schedule and industry-leading voices.

The event opens at noon with remarks from Daniel Gage, President of TTP, and Marty Tufte, TTP Chair and Corporate Fleet Director at WM, signaling the beginning of an agenda that addresses the most pressing market, regulatory, and technology trends impacting the future of renewable natural gas (RNG) in the heavy-duty truck sector.

Highlights from the Agenda:

  • Market and Regulatory Outlook: Industry experts will weigh in on everything from EPA Phase 3 regulations and the impact of federal policy shifts to California’s low NOx efforts and clean fuel standards. With speakers from ACT Research, Clean Freight Coalition, Cummins, Clean Energy, TRC, and others, this segment promises vital insights for fleet managers and policymakers alike.
  • Technology and Tailwinds: From RNG versus hydrogen to updates on Cummins’ X15N engine and NACFE’s Run on Less – Messy Middle, the afternoon dives into the tech transforming fleet operations. Sessions also explore available tax incentives and the strategic role of internal combustion engines in a decarbonized future.
  • Networking Reception: The summit wraps with a lively industry reception, giving attendees the chance to connect and collaborate on the path to cleaner transport.

Introducing the RNG Passport

This year’s summit also coincides with a new initiative, the launch of the RNG Passport, an educational and engagement tool designed to guide attendees through the dynamic RNG ecosystem present at ACT Expo.

The RNG Passport is more than just a guide, it’s a gamified journey through the key players, technologies, and milestones that define renewable natural gas today. Attendees will have the chance to visit participating ACT Expo exhibits, engage with sponsors, and earn stamps as they complete learning checkpoints. Those who complete their passports can submit them for a chance to win prizes and gain deeper insight into RNG’s role in the clean transportation transition.

Why RNG Matters

As the transportation sector continues to decarbonize, RNG remains one of the most immediately deployable and scalable solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions — particularly in hard-to-electrify segments like heavy-duty freight. Produced from organic waste sources such as landfills, livestock operations, and wastewater treatment plants, RNG captures methane that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere and repurposes it as a low-carbon alternative to traditional fossil fuels.

Because RNG is compatible with existing natural gas vehicle infrastructure, fleets can integrate it quickly and cost-effectively — leveraging current assets while achieving significant environmental gains. In fact, depending on its source, RNG can even be carbon-negative, making it a critical component in meeting climate targets and advancing environmental justice, especially in communities near high-pollution corridors.

With policy momentum, emerging technologies, and rising corporate climate commitments all converging, RNG represents both an environmental imperative and a strategic opportunity for transportation stakeholders.
