In a strategic move to supercharge its zero-emission transportation offerings, Hyroad Energy has acquired 113 hydrogen fuel-cell trucks, along with spare parts, software platforms, and intellectual property, from the bankruptcy auction of Nikola Corporation.
Hyroad Energy, a leader in hydrogen-powered Class-8 trucks and trucking-as-a-service solutions, will deploy these newly acquired assets to significantly scale its fleet operations. CEO Dmitry Serov emphasized that this acquisition “significantly advances Hyroad’s mission to provide turnkey hydrogen trucking solutions that reduce the complexity and risk typically associated with adopting zero-emission technologies.”
The package includes not only the vehicles but also the operational infrastructure needed to maintain them. Hyroad plans to establish dedicated maintenance and parts facilities to ensure seamless deployment.
Initially, the trucks will be rolled out in California, where Hyroad continues expanding hydrogen refueling infrastructure. The company also intends to support Nikola trucks already in service, promoting continuity and market growth for hydrogen-fueled commercial vehicles across the U.S.
This acquisition marks a significant leap forward for Hyroad Energy, bolstering its capacity to meet escalating demand from fleet operators seeking reliable, zero-emission alternatives with minimal upfront investment.
