Hexagon Agility, a business of Hexagon Composites, has announced a milestone order to deliver compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems for 100 trucks with Trayecto, Mexico’s largest freight transportation company.
The new trucks will feature Hexagon Agility’s largest available onboard CNG fuel system, paired with Cummins’ new X15N natural gas engine. With high-capacity configurations, the trucks will be capable of ranges exceeding 1,000 kilometers, depending on payload and terrain.
“This order represents a watershed moment for clean trucking in Mexico and Latin America,” said Eric Bippus, Chief Commercial Officer of Hexagon Agility. “The availability of our largest fuel system, in combination with the Cummins X15N engine, delivers a solution that is truly viable for long-haul transport.”
The rollout was enabled through a collaboration with Kenworth Mexicana, which has integrated the Cummins X15N engine into its truck lineup. The partnership ensures that carriers across Mexico can now access natural gas-powered trucks capable of meeting the region’s rigorous freight demands.
When fueled with renewable natural gas (RNG), the vehicles can achieve carbon-negative emissions, offering an immediate and scalable pathway to decarbonize heavy-duty transport.
Trayecto operates one of Mexico’s most extensive fleets, and this order demonstrates its commitment to advancing sustainable logistics. By adopting CNG technology, the company is positioned to lead the industry in reducing reliance on diesel while continuing to deliver services across its broad network.
